This process provides you a clear path and estimates about the project. Once contractor pout in their bids, you can chose a proposal which is best suited for your budget. Don’t choose a low bid but check for the services and other details.
2. Determine the requirement of your project and specify a detail plan about the project execution. Now you can choose a plan form contractor list who is providing the best services according your budget.
3. Once you have a handful of contractors within the budget, take a look on other projects which are they had built. Do you like the style? Then ask for the warrantees which are offering by the builder. Now ask form the people that they have some problem with their homes.
4. Now the last consideration, and probably the more important to your decision, is how compatible you and your builder are. Are you the person who wants to be involved in the every step of the project execution? The builder who is ok to give you control over the project. |

Interview several contractors to find the best suited contractor for your remodeling needs. Don't pick the first general contractor that you come to in the phone book. Referrals from people that you know is another way to find a contractor you can interview.
Discuss plans in the interview process by giving each potential general contractor a plan of your remodeling needs. Included in the plan should be an estimate of how much you want to budget for the project. The contractors also need to know the dimensions of the space they are going to work on and what you want done with that space. This will help them to prepare a bid for the job

| Start with your friends and family and then check in with the National Association of the Remodeling Industry for a list of members in your area. You can also talk with a building inspector, who'll know which contractors routinely meet code requirements, says This Old House general contractor Tom Silva, or pay a visit to your local lumberyard, which sees contractors regularly and knows which ones buy quality materials and pay their bills on time. |

| Case in point: A few years ago, my acquaintance launched a above acclimate and assassin a “contractor friend”—a dad from his son’s advance troop—to administer the work. The acquaintance agreed to plan on a “time and materials” basis, charging my acquaintance an alternate amount and casual forth costs for plumbers, electricians, and added workers. My acquaintance agreed to pay for all materials. This articulate like a acceptable deal, but the data of how it would in fact plan were a bit fuzzy. |
