If you have more than three or four post on the homepage of your blog, you need to make some changes, that is if you want to get the most "link juice" possible from your blog.

The way links work contribute to the site the page they link to is determined by the total amount of links on the page the link resides on. Let's say the page the link is on has a pagerank of 2 and has 2 links on the page. Each of the pages being linked to would receive 50% of the total "link juice" the linked from page has. So to put that into plain english, which link will give you more of a boost; a page with 20 links or the same page with only 5 links? Easy math wouldn't you say.

Count the total number of links on your blog pages, not just the homepage, and try to reduce that number and eliminate any worthless links. Also let us know how many links you have on your homepage and subpages.

Should a blog entry just have one link?

How do you feel about about a bunch of pictures and a 300 word article with just one link, the pictures would be used to fill up the page so only one blog entry would be on each page.

I don't know which blogging site you use or are referring to, but if you use Blogger, log into your account and click the link for "Settings" from within your dashboard. Then click the tab for "Formatting". At the very top you will see Show and the amount of post your blog is set to display on the main page or homepage.

You should set that number to 3 or 4, depending on how long most of the post you make are and how many image you use. If you keep your post to around 300 words and don't go overboard with the images, your page will look porportionate and will load in good time.

I don't recommend using a bunch of pictures. A blog is meant to be somewhat of a news center. Over loading the pages with images won't serve very much purpose other than slowing down load time and causing you to loose visitors that don't want to wait.

If you have an image that you really want to display on your blog to describe the topic of the post, then by all means do so, but that should be the extent of the images on the post.

If you are writting about something that requires many images, consider breaking the topic down into smaller topics, maybe one for each image and make serveral post with a link to a different page of your site with each one, or even to the same page.

This will give you much better results and help retain the visitors interest as well as giving them a reason to come back, via, they want to see the rest of the story or learn more about the product or service.

And as far as one link per post, well again, that is the best way but if the post have some good info about another page, it should not be a set rule to never put more than one link, two will still give the pages some "Link Juice"
