Any contractor that wants to rank higher for the more competitive keywords and keyword phrases will find difficulties without using blog posts as part of their seo and link building campaigns.

Blogs are the perfect source for building quality, one way inbound links to a web site. Each page is topic specific and if the text link is placed in the body of the post and uses the proper anchor text, no search engine can filter the link and every search engine will reward your site with higher rankings from the relevant link.

So how can you make this even better? Create links to your blog. The higher your blog ranks, the more power the links to your site from the blog will be.

There are several easy ways to do this. One is if you are on a forum that allows multiple links in the signature, point one of them to your blog and use good anchor text as you would when linking to your site.

I don't recommend changing a link in your signature so it links to your blog. This method should only be used if the forum allows more links than you are currently using and I wouldn't change the signature of a "Bread and Butter" forum where most of your inbound links to your site come from.

The best solution is to add a link to a forum signature where you post occasionally. So if you have a forum that you post on five days a week and another you post on once a week, add the link to the once a week forum signature so it doesn't rob link juice from the main forum.

If you don't have a once a week forum or you only post on one forum, go join another and use it mainly for the purpose of creating links to your site and blog.

Other ways for increasing links to you blog is to submit you blog to directories and cross link to it from other blogs. You should also place a link on your site that links to your blog. Once the blog gets good rank, remove the link so all links from the blog to your site become one way.

Hope this is helpful and explainatory enough. If you need help with creating links to your blog, feel free to post you needs here or send me a private message.

I understand the concept and agree. What doe a guy do that isn't articulate or creative in writing? I suck at writing blogs. I suppose it doesn't matter a whole lot but I would just hate for a potential prospect reading my haphazardly written blog. LOL

Good point, someone must have a service where you can call in your ideas and they turn them into a nice looking blog post. It would be nice if you could just give them a topic, they ask you a bunch of questions and bingo.

Maybe on of the guys from WFC knows of someone who offers this type of service.

Hey guys, we actually offer a service to write blog post for you if you prefer not to write the post yourself. The concept is one of the best known secrets for creating quality inbound links and if you can do it yourself, the most cost effective.

We offer two forms of services for assisting in blog post. One is for you to write the blog and send to us for review and editing. With this service, you have the ability to decide your topics and write a short story about it. We then review the story for content and rewrite it in a way that makes sense while utilizing your targeted keyphrases. This service cost $10 per post.

The other option is for people who just have no time and want to establish a solid foundation of inlinks. With this service, we review your site and create blog post for you based on the topic of your site. All you have to do is tell us which keywords you want to target. If you are already a client of WebFirstCreations, you don't even have to do that because we know what you need to be targeting and where other links have already been established to target certain sections of your site. For those that are not very web wise, we can even do an analysis of their site and recommend what they should be targeting based on traffic patterens and keyword popularity. Cost for this service is $18 per post and if you need the analysis, we charge $50 to do a complete keyword analysis of your site. This includes an analysis for up to 5 pages. If you want more pages analyzed, we charge $8 per page for every page over 5 and up to 100. Price drops to $7 per page for every page over 100.

Everyone who is thinking of using blog post to increase inlinks should seriously consider signing up for our "Share-Blog-Post" program. The standard level will usually work for most contractors and at $50.00 per month, I don't know of a more affordable program for building links.

So to wrap this up, take a look at a few examples of what you would spend to create 30 one-way inbound links to your site a month:

Example 1
$50.00 - Standard Share-Blog-Post Monthly
$0.00 - You write your own blog post and send to us.
$50.00 - Total Monthly Cost (plus an average of 10 minutes of your time per post = 10 min x 30 days = 300 min / 60 = 5 hours per month)

Example 2
$50.00 - Standard Share-Blog-Post Monthly
$10.00 x 30 = $300 - You Create the topics and short stories
$50.00 - We analyze 5 main pages of your site (you choose)
$400.00 - Total Monthly Cost (plus an average of 3 minutes of your time per post = 3 min x 30 days = 90 min / 60 = 1.5 hours per month)

I hope this is helpful and explains some options for how you can increase the exposure and rankings of your site.

One of the things that you can do to help you out is to find a blog that a competitor has that is ranked highly and look at how the site is designed and what keywords are being used. You can always run the site through Google's Keyword Tool to see what keywords are used to drive the site.

Manual backlink creation is the only effective way. I disagree. Manual is a good way to start but using an automated system will greatly reduce the time spent building backlinks. I begin by creating content like blog posts, articles and web 2.0 properties. Each with one or two backlinks to my main site. Deep links work well to gain rank for individual pages in your site. It's better to have more than just links to the home page. After I have a fare amount of content linking to my site I then use The Link Juicer to generate backlinks. It is a site that automatically builds backlinks. Sites like Squidoo and Hub Pages are easy to get higher page rank and to show up on the first page of Google. All you need is backlinks to these sites. The Link Juicer builds the backlinks using different social bookmarking accounts and blog posts. You write the content and use The Link Juicer spinner to make the articles unique when posted. Another technique that the Link Juicer can help with is called link stacking. This just means to add backlinks to sites that have links to your site. This works for content you create or for truly natural backlinks that other people have created. It is better than reciprocal linking because if you link back to a site that is linking to your site it will diminish the amount of link juice going to both sites. This is where link wheeling and three way linking also come into play. Combining all of these techniques will get you the best results.

Thanks
