How do you link to the most important parts of your site, like sales pages or request for estimates. You may be suprised to know that a high percentage of internet users perfer a text link over an image link by more than 8 to 1.

It is a proven fact that when presented with a choice of clicking on a text link or image link, the text link wins almost every time. We can prove this info by way of our premium analytics progam's touch mapping software. For those of you that have signed up the the premium web site analytics, you should go take a look at the touch map. You will see that text links rule in click conversion.

So what does this mean to you? Nothing if you have created text links throughout your site for visitor to click on. But if you have placed your links in images, hoping visitors will mouse over them and click, you need to revise your structure.

Now this is a little tricky in the sense that some images have text imbedded with call to action statements like click here. Those types of images are usually ok because the images directs the user to perform an action. But if you have a standard image that doesn't host this type of text, either add call to action text to the image or at minimum, place a text link under the image for your visitors to click. You will be suprised by the results.

So do you have image links on your site or text links? And do you have means of tracking where visitors click so you know if the image link is providing the results you desire? Also, if you are a premium analytics member, check out your touch map and let us know what results you see.

I like to change the date field to show the clicks for a longer period of time. People click all over my home page, the color changes in areas where there are a bunch of hits.

Post a link or add a picture so people can get a feel for how well the visastat program works.
