There are a lot of ways to get better rankings and one of the best known comes from blog links. I don't mean comments, I mean actual blog post. Each time a blog post is performed, a new blog page is created for that post with the title tag created to match the subject you designated. That means you get a page that is topic specific to the post. So no matter what the original theme of the blog is, the page is still specific to the post.

That is why blog post are so good. So if you want to create some new links to your site from topic specific pages with text links that you control, all you have to do is create a blog or maybe even several.

So how many do you need or can you have? The answer is MANY! Now I don't mean that in a sense of creating so many blogs that you become a spammer, but there is nothing wrong with having 4 or 5 blogs. The thing to do is create them at different places.

You could have one at Blogger, one at WordPress and so on. The main key is to make original post at each one. Do NOT just copy one post from one to another. That will raise flags and the copies won't be indexed anyway due to duplicate content.

The correct way is to make short post of 150 - 300 words. You should also vary the pages that you link to within your site and put your post in a random rotation. Post on blog a, b, c, a, c, b, c, a, b, a, c, b. This keeps things looking natural to the search engines.

Also, you shouldn't post on any given blog more than once a week and if you have a second site, make post to that site in between post to your main site or maybe even your friends site. Tell them if they write the content you will post it for them in exchange for them placing a post on their blog to your site. How many friends did you say you had?

This is not a blackhat technique, just don't abuse it and don't create more blogs than you can keep up with and make informative post on.

So how many blogs does everyone have and do you make post on them the way I have described?

Glad I posted this topic then. Just for your info on making unique blog post. Some things you can do that will save you time on writing posts is the fact that a page only has to be about 30% different to be unique. So you could write a post and reword serveral of the sentences to be different from each other.

The other main thing to do is use unique titles for every post you make on every blog you post on. Other tips would be to use differnt tags for each blog you post on or even a different "About Us" section that shows on your blogs.

I do recommend printing each blog you post, dating it, and filing it somewhere. It does start to get confusing trying to remember what you've posted about and what you haven't.

Good idea Barry, I can never keep track of what/where I post stuff. I will have to invest a few hours in getting my post in order.

Another way to track and keep up with blog posts is to create an excel file. You can list your blog post by date, which blog you posted on and insert a link to the blog post with a title that describes the topic of the post. That way you don't have to look through files to see what you posted last week or last year, you simple open the excel file and browse topics and open the post right from your desktop if you want to review it.

Here is an Example with the date section already formulated and an imaginary list of blogs you can rename to match the blogs you have. You will have to save it to your computer to edit.

You can also ad another worksheet and include information about your articles. This is a very easy way to keep track on a wide scale.

I currently am hosting 4 blogs on my site. One is for my company. The second one is for my web design company. The third one is for sharing family pictures with relatives and of course the fourth one is a personal blog in which only friends can visit.

Blogs are very fun.

Sometimes when you only post every few days, it become a treat for your readers when they see a new post come up on their dashboard. Like one of the blogs I follow only posts about every week, but her posts are always long, with pictures and are always good quality.

Thanks
