| What are window efficiency ratings and how do you use them to determine the best possible window for your projects. Is it based on higher numbers or lower numbers. Some help on this would be very beneficial. |

I guess you are talking about your u-factors and solar heat gains right?
Basically the energy performance label is designed to show how well a product will cool a building in the summer, warm a building in the winter, keep out wind, and resist condensation.

| Yes that answers that question. Now let me ask how you determine which ones are going to be better? and how will that really effect the heating and cooling in the home. |

Look for low U numbers. A cheap double pane window will be somewhere around U.50 and mid range will come in at around U.35 and a top of the line window will come in at below U.20. The windows that we sell are a U.18.
Ignore the R value, people tend to play with that number. A old window will have a R value of about 1 while a good triple pane window will have a R9 or R10 (the higher the better).
