I have a question for you. What are the pros or cons of covering the entire deck of a properly ventilated 5 pitch roof with ice and water?

Another one, if the cons exceed the benefits how about any other no felt product. The reason that I am asking is I have to replace the roof on my cape and I what to take my time. When I replaced the roof on a different part of my home a few years ago the tar paper kept getting wet and I had to replace it a couple of times before applying the shingles.
