If you do not have a team of regular workers, I am going to suggest you get one. I used to work with a variety of locals that I knew and met over the years but have had to hire my own team of workers to perform many project completions, because some people would just not show up when they said they would or claimed that other projects were paying them more money so they were putting them first.

Lately I have found this more likely than not. I have also had other contractors warn me not to pay upfront because they never show up once they have been paid. I think that a contract needs to be signed and met before any payment arrangements are ever made.

Unfortunately it is so common now days and you have to be careful who you deal with and when you pay the people or you might not get your work completed.

Having a regular team though is dependant on the ammount of work you are generating, you can't have a team sitting around if you are not getting the work in, pay a day rate at the end of each working day.
In the building trade you will always get no shows |

What do you mean by pay a day rate at the end of each day. Can you please explain this further, as I am interested in knowing what you are referring to and how that relates to keeping people.
