One thing I have seen around where I live is that the construction sites are sloppy and make the company look bad. So here are some of the practices that I use in my business that you guys might already be doing.

Place trash and recycling receptacles around the site. This includes smaller trash cans so the employees are not throwing garbage on the ground.

Always keep the dumpsters covered and emptied. If you can put the dumpster under a roof that is even better. Never clean the dumpster on the site.

Keep materials out of the weather, this protects them if you get a surprise shower.

Designate specific areas for parking.

Make suer you have at least one portable toilet and they are working properly with no leaks.

Use as little water as possible for dust control.

These things are common sense but sometime often forgotten.

I would have never thought to post those here, but thank you for doing so. It is very often that you do see these types of problems on construction sites and not all of them handle it the way the should. I (like you) make sure that my business is keeping a good name by maintaining my sites in an organized way.

Terrific info Grant.

That is how construction sites look in my area; wet materials, trash blowing around, and vehicles parked everywhere. That doesn't say much for the contractor whom has his yard sign out front. Laughing
