Many exterior cleaning jobs around your property can be completed with a pressure washer. The proper way to accomplish these jobs is to use the correct cleaners so that excessive pressure is not needed.
Too much pressure from a pressure washer can easily damage wood, vinyl siding, brick mortar, as well as other surfaces around the home. When using the proper pressure wash cleaners you can use less pressure, eradicating the risk of damage, and still achieve great pressure washer results.
The way the pressure is lowered on a pressure washer unit is by changing the nozzle on the end of the gun. The larger the orifice in the nozzle the less pressure or pounds per square inch (PSI) will be present. This does not lower the gallons per minute (flow) of the water, only the pressure is effected.
When trying to draw chemicals into the pressure washer hose the pressure has to be dropped significantly to create a vacuum. This is normally achieved by using a very large orifice sized nozzle simply called a soap nozzle. When used properly a pressure washer can be an extremely useful tool.
