I know a lot of contractors use oxalic acid to brighten concrete and/or wooden decks. If you have ever breathed that stuff you know it takes your breath away and makes you cough. This stuff can cause respiratory problems and can also be absorbed through your skin. It can remove calcium from the blood causing kidney problems.

Handle this stuff with care. Safety glasses, gloves, and a respirator should all be worn. Never mix this stuff with bleach or pool chlorine. When mixed together it bubbles and puts off a wicked gas that can bring you to your knees. Very dangerous stuff when not handled properly.
