So, I'm a DIYer and am helping my mother-in-law out immensely (at least I'm assuming I am), by remodeling both her bathrooms and creating an entirely new one from the ground up.
My question is this:
Can anyone give me a ball park figure for how much the work I'm doing would cost someone who were to contract out all the work I'm doing.
My work has consisted so far of:
Turning a .5 bath into a full bath with stand up shower, ceramic tiled, marble tile floor, light fixture relocation and addition of an extra one, plumbing relocation, and install of alot of copper.
The upstairs bathroom was a full bath with a closet on the other side of the wall. I removed everything, including the wall, and created a 32" guest bathroom with a sink and toilet, all marble tile 6' up, new copper there for plumbing, T'd the toilet to install a second one in the new larger bathroom on the other side of the wall. The new master bath measures roughly 10x5, will have slate tile 16" all around and floor to ceiling, installed light/vent fixture, wired 2 new lines from breaker box 20amp and 30amp (one for a steam generator attached to shower/jacuzzi tub, one for whirlpool motor), and isolated entire bathroom onto 30 amp circuit. Installed and plumbed everything for a vanity, second toilet, and tub/shower. Consisted of wall and floor construction/repair, extensive wiring, plumbing, drywall work, and general labor for removal of existing walls and creation of new ones.
Amidst all this jumble, could anyone possibly tell me what a job like this would run?
I apologize if this is in the wrong area, or even the wrong forum
Just trying to get my head around this to maybe instill in my ma-in-law how much money I'm saving her. |
