When it comes to painting your walls ensure you are working with a smooth surface, take your time to fill and sand - if you don't you will regret it

Can you please explain in more details and maybe even give us an example of what not to do and what should be done to ensure that we are getting the best quality.

Basic thorough cleaning with water & mild soap, repair any cracks on the walls, if needed to sand any areas of repairs do so. If you don't do a good job in the preparation phase, this can mess up the application of paint.
