| How can you get the most work done with the least amount of costs when you have to hire a subcontractor. I have been dealing with some that are just wanting outrageous prices and then change try to change the price because they under bid the project. |

| You have to be really careful Jeannie, there are a few ways to approach this, first off, get a list of the materials they will need for the job - then get them yourself which then cuts out any fiddles in materials. Secondly get thier estimates in writing with a detailed breakdown of the costs to start with |

| Yes, that is a great idea. I generally do get everything in writing to ensure that I am not getting a bad deal or someone changing their mind in the end. |
