Leather goods are extremely fragile and need extra care when it comes to cleaning. However, it’s really not the end of the world and you can actually restore your leather to its originally shape with these five simple steps.

1. Using a soft cleaning cloth, gently wipe off as much of the mold as possible. You’ll also want to wear an air mask so that you don’t inhale the spores from the mold.

2. Using a soft bristle brush, gently scrub the affected area to get deep down into the grains of the leather where mold can hide.

3. Next, apply a solution of soap (safe for leather) and water to a soft cloth and rub it into the leather.

4. Using another soft cloth, wipe away any soap residue with clean water.

5. Finally, buff and dry the leather using a clean cloth and some leather conditioner.
