I have a problem with a new storm door I bought not fitting in the hole. Besides having to take a hammer and a chisel and chipping away the wood that is stopping the door from fitting, is there a better way that will ensure the door fits properly?

Any advice is appreciated.

What is the measurement between your exterior trim (width and height)?

What size door did you buy?

I would be caution when chipping anything away from the frame of the door. You may weaken the frame. It sounds like your storm door is too big for the frame.
